After many years the city is to host a carnival again and we are going GREEN!FLOATS! Think go-karts, bikes, push chairs, trollies, as long as they are non-motorised. COSTUMES! Think colour, big masks, think razzmatazz. NOISE! Think whistles, marching bands, samba, drumming. FLAGS! Think big bright & beautiful.
The Carnival continues to celebrate the legacy of Essex 2020 – Year of Science & Creativity. So, while we are non-motorised — in addition to the green theme — we are paying particular attention and encouraging submissions that celebrate, showcase and demonstrate our City’s ingenuity and reputation for engineering excellence. Starting at 1pm the route will follow the public footpath from Admirals Park, travelling through Central Park & Bell Meadows Park , over Stonebridge Walk, up the Hight St, right into Springfield finishing in Backnang Sq where there will be a host of activities to keep you amused for the afternoon.
